Morgan Wallen has given fans the first preview of his next era, with the Sneedville native sharing a snippet of a new song, seemingly titled, ’Been By Now’. The clip comes after Wallen revealed in a recent interview that he'd been working on new music.

It finds Wallen crooning wistfully across an uptempo, synth-backed instrumental that brings to mind stand-outs from I'm the Problem, like ‘I Got Better’ and ‘TN’.

Although another break-up anthem on the surface of things, ‘Been By Now’ carries a more playful, light-hearted tone as Wallen admits that it's about time they call it quits for good.

It's unclear at the moment whether Wallen is planning to release ‘Been By Now’ as part of his fifth studio album, or whether he's plotting a deluxe version of 2025's I'm the Problem.

The country titan is currently in the middle of his sprawling 2026 Still the Problem Tour across North America. As we've highlighted previously, the title of this tour certainly feels as though it would lend itself to an expanded edition of I'm the Problem.

What's more, Wallen has been teasing an extended version of his I'm the Problem ‘Interlude’ for the best part of a year, with many fans assuming this would feature on a deluxe, alongside the ‘Miami’ remix and his cover of ‘Graveyard Whistling’.

We'll have to wait and see exactly why Wallen has in store for ‘Been By Now’. But judging by the immediate reaction from fans in the comments, it's safe to say the ‘Thought You Should Know’ singer-songwriter's loyal fanbase will be hoping he doesn't make us wait quite as long as he did for ‘Love Somebody’ and ‘I'm the Problem’. We're keeping our fingers crossed that Wallen gives us a release date for ‘Been By Now’ - and perhaps a Still the Problem deluxe album - in the coming weeks...
