After various rumours connecting her to the Hunger Games: Sunrise On The Reaping soundtrack, Gigi Perez has now seemingly teased her song on the blockbuster project.
A few weeks ago, a partial tracklist surfaced online, claiming one of the songs on the official film soundtrack - ‘Favor’ - was by Perez. This is yet to be confirmed, but the ‘Sailor Song’ hitmaker's latest post feels like a big clue about her involvement.
Perez has uploaded a brief, mysterious clip of the sun rising over a wildflower meadow. Ethereal, ambient music plays in the background. Immediately, fans have taken to the comments to speculate that she is teasing a new song from the Hunger Games album.
It certainly feels reminiscent of how Noah Kahan first started hinting that he'd be contributing a song to the project, before he unveiled the haunting ‘Draw You Out’ a few weeks later.
Assuming this otherworldly clip is indeed what we think - and hope - it is, then it feels like Perez is the perfect addition to the album. The Hunger Games soundtracks have always had an alt-country and folk-driven spirit, mirroring the fact that Suzanne Collins based District 12 - Katniss Everdeen's home - on the Appalachian Mountains.
With Kahan's ‘Draw You Out’ and The Smashing Pumpkins’ ‘Black Stars’ the only two songs confirmed for the Hunger Games: Sunrise On The Reaping soundtrack so far, we're excited to see if Perez is the next artist to be added to the star-studded roster.
Another artist mooted to be joining the soundtrack's line-up is one of the film's stars, Mckenna Grace, who plays Maysilee Donner in Hunger Games: Sunrise On The Reaping. Billy Vincent, Carter Faith and Sydney Rose are also rumoured to be involved.
