HARDY has discussed performing two back-to-back sold-out shows at Madison Square Garden with Morgan Wallen, with the country-rock hitmaker sharing how their New York double-header felt like a full-circle moment for the two long-time buddies.

HARDY and Wallen have been pals since before Day One of either of their music careers, with the two up-and-comers meeting in the mid-2010's at a Big Loud party, with HARDY then famously making a cameo in Wallen's ‘Whiskey Glasses’ video in 2018.

The ‘TRUCK BED’ singer-songwriter has penned an array of tracks across all of Wallen's albums, with the duo linking up for a multitude of fan-favourite collaborations, such as ‘red’, ‘Come Back As A Redneck’, ‘He Went to Jared’, ‘McArthur’ and more.

For a while, you would see HARDY on the bill for every one of Wallen's sprawling tours. This week, HARDY reunites with his good friend in Michigan, where Wallen is expected to set a new record for the biggest single ticketed concert in US history.

In a new interview via SiriusXM's Morgan Wallen Radio, HARDY has reflected on why, despite the fact that they've since performed at much larger venues, his 2022 double-header with Wallen at Madison Square Garden felt like a hugely special moment.

HARDY muses, “Playing Madison Square Garden, obviously it was my first time. The thought that I had more than anything was that Morgan and I, three years ago to the date, were on tour playing clubs, where the biggest club we would play had maybe 2,000 people”. Madison Square Garden, by contrast, can fit up to 20,000 attendees.

The ‘Bottomland’ crooner goes on to explain how these New York shows felt like a testament to how quickly he and Wallen had risen through the ranks, “And just to think of how far...especially Morgan, but I like to group myself in that moment with him of how far we've come, to be able to say that we've sold out Madison Square Garden two nights in a row, when only three years ago we were playing clubs of anywhere from 700 to 800 people. So that truly was my favourite part about playing the venue, and I just tried to soak every bit of that moment up while I could”.

We're excited to see HARDY linking up on-stage with Wallen once again in Ann Arbor this weekend, with the duo hopefully set to perform their rowdy classic, ‘He Went to Jared’. Alongside ERNEST, they serve as one of the most influential songwriting trios in Nashville, and with Wallen teasing a new chapter of music, we're looking forward to hearing plenty more co-writes and collaborations from these three amigos.
