Brandon Lake has taken to Instagram to share his respect for Shaboozey, after the ‘A Bar Song (Tipsy)’ hitmaker decided to pray over his audience at a recent Minneapolis show.

In the clip, Shaboozey expresses his immense gratitude for how he's able to play for much larger audiences these days, before sharing a heartfelt prayer thanking God and Jesus for the opportunity to perform, and asking for protection for attendees.

It was a touching moment, one that clearly struck a chord with Lake. Via his Instagram Stories, Lake warmly gushed, “Proud of you @shaboozey”, adding, “Keep being a light bro”.

Lake has made prayer a cornerstone of his live performances over the years, with the Contemporary Christian Music trailblazer often taking time out to pray for specific members of the audience, particularly if they're struggling with something specific. Fans will often come with handmade signs asking for Lake to pray for healing.

Similarly, throughout his 2026 shows Shaboozey has been making a concerted effort to underline how important faith has been in his journey, with the ‘Amen’ singer-songwriter revealing that the message behind his latest album, The Outlaw Cherie Lee & Other Western Tales, is one of drawing close to God and finding redemption.

Spirituality has always been a crucial theme in Shaboozey's music, epitomised by rousing offerings such as ‘Amen’, ‘Hail Mary’ with Sierra Ferrell and ‘Kissed By An Angel’.

With Lake continuing his foray into the country music sphere, following stellar collaborations with Lainey Wilson (‘The Jesus I Know Now’), Bailey Zimmerman (‘Just Believe’), Cody Johnson (‘When a Cowboy Prays’) and more, it feels like the lines between Contemporary Christian Music and country are becoming increasingly blurred.

And as artists like Lake, Anne Wilson, Forrest Frank and Josiah Queen venture further into country music, this seems to be giving country artists - like Shaboozey, Zimmerman, Ella Langley and Lainey Wilson - the freedom and courage to speak more openly about their faith, both through their music and their live shows.

With Lake hanging out with Shaboozey at the ASCAP Nashville Songwriters ceremony last November, we're hoping they've had a chance to link up in the studio to collaborate on an inspiring, faith-filled song for Lake's genre-blurring new record.

Lake's new single, ‘Changing’, arrives this Friday (October 16th), with more star-studded link-ups on the horizon with the likes of HARDY, Dan + Shay and Russell Dickerson.

Given how pivotal his relationship with God and Jesus has been throughout his recent albums, we think Shaboozey would be a fantastic addition to Lake's eagerly awaited album.
