As the dust settles after Koe Wetzel and Ella Langley's momentous new collaboration, ‘Jaded’, the duo are sharing why they were both so keen to join forces again for this duet.

‘Jaded’, which arrived on Friday (August 7th), marks the second collaboration between these two country hitmakers, after ‘That's Why We Fight’ in 2023, which appears on Langley's Excuse the Mess. ’Jaded’ is currently on-pace for a Top 25 debut on the Billboard Hot 100 next week, marking the highest debut in this tracking period.

In tandem with the release of ‘Jaded’, Wetzel has underlined why he wanted Langley on this track, “Ella’s been one of my favorite people to write and sing with for a long time”.

He adds, “We recorded ‘That's Why We Fight’ early on in both of our careers, and getting back in a room together was something we talked about every time we saw each other”.

The ‘High Road’ singer-songwriter cites Langley's sincerity as one of the most captivating qualities in her delivery, which ultimately drew him to her as a duet partner, “When she sings, you believe it and I’m excited we could get this one out there to the fans”.

Langley echoes Wetzel's enthusiasm, stressing that their friendship outside the studio has helped to build that camaraderie and comfort when working together, “Koe and I have known each other and been friends for a long time. He was one of the first artists I ever got to collaborate with and one of the first I went out on the road with back in 2022. Getting to write and record another song together is special”.

‘Jaded’, which serves as the first single of Wetzel's post-Night Champion era, was co-written by Wetzel, Langley, Jordan Schmidt and ERNEST. It finds Wetzel and Langley trading verses across a hazy, disco-infused instrumental, as they step into the shoes of two tentative lovers both attempting to overcome their trust issues.

It feels like a full-circle moment for the duo, with Wetzel being one of the first artists to show love to Langley while she was rising through the ranks by appearing on ‘That's Why We Fight’. Now, with Langley cementing herself as one of the biggest artists of 2026 - across all genres - it's touching that she now returns the favour, and gives Wetzel a co-sign while she is on top of the musical world.

For Wetzel, meanwhile, ‘Jaded’ is the latest in a string of celebrated releases from the Texas native, as he keeps fans well-fed following The Night Champion and its accompanying deluxe. ‘Jaded’ is his next single to impact Country Radio, with Wetzel keeping the momentum high as he continues his Night Champion World Tour.
