Lainey Wilson and Devlin ’Duck’ Hodges spent the Halloween weekend attending the 2026 Breeders Cup World Championships at Keeneland Racecourse in Lexington, Kentucky. At the biggest event of the day, the Breeders Cup Classic, Sovereignty - trained by Bill Mott and ridden by Junior Alvarado - won in his final career start, with his team taking home the lucrative $7 million purse.
Wilson and Hodges, who got married in May this year in Dickson, Tennessee, have shared a series of heartwarming videos of them getting to meet some of the competing horses.
Wilson took to her Instagram Stories to upload a couple of clips of them meeting a beautiful, record-setting sprinter horse, Cogburn, who belongs to the WinStar Farm team.
The ‘Heart Like a Truck’ singer-songwriter has a longstanding love of horses, with Wilson growing up around both horses and cattle on a family farm in rural Baskin, Louisiana.
Wilson's father was both a farmer and horse trader, so it's touching to see the ‘Country's Cool Again’ hitmaker is still making time for this passion amidst her hectic, 100mph schedule.
Wilson famously has a horse called Cash, who - alongside her beloved French bulldog Hippie Mae and Hodges’ black Labrador Willow - played a key part in the couple's wedding.
As Wilson cements herself as one of the biggest stars in the modern country music landscape, it'll be interesting to see whether she and Hodges delve a little deeper into the horse breeding and racing. For the time being, it's safe to say the Louisiana native would likely struggle to fit this in alongside touring and recording new music.
But perhaps one day Wilson and Hodges will add horse breeding - or at least having more horses as pets - this to their multitude of responsibilities as two high-profile public figures.
