Just over a week after it was confirmed that Morgan Wallen's Sand in My Boots Festival would be returning in 2027, the official festival page has started teasing its first performer.
The Sand in My Boots Festival Instagram account has shared a clip of some cartoon birds flying against a purple-hued sky, with Gucci Mane's signature earworm, ‘Lemonade’, playing in the background. It feels like a thinly veiled clue that the Atlanta rapper is set to perform at the Gulf Shores, Alabama extravaganza next May.
This artist-choice shouldn't come as a surprise, with Wallen being open throughout his career about how much he loved Atlanta rap growing up. What's more, although he cut his teeth in the city's rap scene, Gucci was actually born in Alabama, making his appearance at Sand in My Boots Festival feel like a homecoming of sorts.
Although there's been no official announcement just yet, given the fact that Gucci is the first artist to be teased for Sand in My Boots Festival 2027, you have to assume he'll be a headliner. He's established himself as one of the most respected figures in the modern rap scene, and he would surely be a popular headliner option.
The other assumption is that Wallen will be returning as a headliner, too, after the Sneedville megastar closed out the inaugural instalment of the festival in May 2025.
We're excited to see who else is set to join the bill. Judging by the comments made by the Director of Recreation & Cultural Affairs for the City of Gulf Shores, Grant Brown, earlier in October, it looks like we can expect the full line-up to drop in November.
One name we're hoping will feature is Florida Georgia Line. The duo - consisting of Tyler Hubbard and Brian Kelley - are embarking on a huge festival tour throughout 2027.
Bearing in mind how Florida Georgia Line were one of the first artists to show love to Wallen when they joined forces on the rowdy earworm, ‘Up Down’, in 2017, it's hard to think of a better setting to really cement the fact that the ‘Cruise’ chart-toppers are back than at Sand in My Boots Festival 2027 - ten years after that first collaboration. We'll be keeping our fingers crossed as more clues arrive...
