Tucker Wetmore is finally releasing his long-teased new single, ‘Who Told You That’, with the ‘Wine into Whiskey’ singer-songwriter set to drop the summer anthem on Friday, July 10th.

Wetmore announced the exciting news via a low-key Instagram video, featuring the Washington native eating some nuts and a watermelon from what appears to be a sunny destination.

It matches the breezy, beachside feel of the track, with the ‘Wind Up Missin’ You’ hitmaker casually sharing the revelation we've all been waiting for in the caption, “I’m gonna release this song on Friday”. It's the kind of off-hand, unbothered approach Wetmore has been adopting to socials of late, and if we're being honest, we're here for it. It marks a welcome departure from the overly staged singing-to-camera style that has been flooding TikTok throughout the 2020's.

The track finds Wetmore addressing an old flame as he reflects on all the speculation and rumours that continue to fly around town about his dating life, before playfully dismissing it (“I'll take a walk on the beach, I'll write your name in the sand / Ain't no romantic in me, I don't know who told you that / I'll bring you breakfast in bed, mimosas up in your glass / Treat you like my Juliet, I don't know who told you that”).

Wetmore first started performing ‘Who Told You That’ during his UK and European tour in April, with fans clamouring for a release date ever since the stellar live debut.

Thankfully, at long last, we have one, with Wetmore doubling down on the sun-soaked, beachy ambience of his other recent single, ‘Sunburn’, as he readies his new Loverboy album.
