The excitement surrounding a potential Florida Georgia Line reunion is intensifying, with Tyler Hubbard and Brian Kelley being spotted seemingly working on new music.
THubb and BK have been open in recent weeks about their mutual desire to heal their friendship, with the duo sharing photos via social media of them spending time together.
Now, though, for the first time, we have an indication that this personal reconciliation might be paving the way for new music from Florida Georgia Line. Kelley's wife, Brittney, has uploaded an Instagram carousel from a recent trip with the Hubbards.
Alongside heartwarming photos of THubb and his wife, Haylely, hanging out with BK and Brittney, there is one tantalising image of Hubbard and Kelley seemingly working on new material together. Kelley holds a guitar while Hubbard is on the piano.
The game-changing duo disbanded in 2022, with Hubbard and Kelley's relationship growing increasingly fractured in subsequent years as rumours flew about why they split.
Despite conjecture that the disconnect was political, after Kelley's high-profile support of Donald Trump in the 2020 election, THubb and BK later revealed that the split arose because the latter wanted to release solo material while keeping FGL alive. Hubbard, on the other hand, believed this would muddle the FGL brand.
It's unclear whether Hubbard has since changed his mind, whether they've decided to reform FGL and put their respective solo careers on hold, or whether they're simply writing music together without any particular agenda regarding FGL.
Either way, it's clear there is a yearning from fans and fellow artists alike for a Florida Georgie Line reunion. In the comments beneath Brittney's carousel, Russell Dickerson has shared the classic Michael Scott “Oh my God! Okay, it's happening!” GIF, while Priscilla Block gushes, “My heart is SOOOO HAPPYYYYY”.
In the caption, Brittney touchingly reflects on the healing that has been happening of late among the four friends, “Proof that God’s timing is always better than ours. This week was about healing, laughter, and remembering the “why” that brought us together in the first place. We’re thankful for time together, honest conversations, and the chance to reconnect on a deeper level. Thank you to the Hubbard fam for hosting us at your home out West...We left with peace about the past and a reminder that redemption is real and the future is bright”.
THubb warmly responds, “Jesus has been busy in Idaho and those three days were so special. Love y’all and loved every minute of our time together. Thanks for making the trek and for the awesome post. Can’t wait for next time”. Hayley adds, “Well said...God is so good and so was this week. Can’t wait for more laser tag and mems”.
With the last Florida Georgia Line album - Life Rolls On - arriving in 2021, we've been waiting for the best part of five years for new FGL material, after the duo spent much of the 2010s reshaping and redefining the country music landscape with anthems like ’Cruise’ and ‘Round Here’. We love THubb's country-pop solo work and BK's sun-soaked, Jimmy Buffett-inspired earworms, but we've been longing to hear their electric harmonies together again. Judging by this latest post from Brittney, it seems we might not have to wait much longer.
