On night two in Foxborough, Massachusetts, Zach Bryan played an unreleased song titled 'Dog Days.' The tune marks just one of many played on his 2026 With Heaven On Tour run, in light of his upcoming EP, Young Manhood & Other Donatable Organs.
"Hope you guys don't hate it," has become Bryan's trademark line just before strumming the first few chords and just after giving the story behind any song that seems to float more within the realm of his personal sentiments.
Bryan's iconic introductions of songs have also become a way for the 'Something In The Orange' hitmaker to segue into unreleased songs during his current tour run. With few tangible promotive aspects of the EP at the time of writing, we're thankful for the concert content we've received from Bryan this far.
Bryan gave his Gillette Stadium crowd a live performance of 'Dog Days.' Practically on a whim, the song was played completely unrehearsed, only being brought to the attention of his band just before hopping on stage earlier that night.
Other songs on the setlists of multiple shows across his 2026 tour include 'Lodi When,' 'Backwards,' and 'Robot Killed The Working Man,' - all unreleased, and all confirmed to be on the EP.
The scarce promotion of Young Manhood & Other Donatable Organs seems very organic, with no rhyme or reason behind the songs Bryan chooses to play live, other than it's what he wishes to play. That nature, of course, is part of the pull of Bryan. Given his track record, the 'Dawns' hitmaker has always written, played, and released whatever he wants, whenever he wants. Which is why there truly is no telling further information on the EP's release date, but according to Bryan, it'll belong to fans on October 16th, "if all goes well."
The live performance spaces the 'Overtime' crooner has introduced the unreleased bits to gives reasonable opportunity for fans to become acquainted with the future hits, and hopefully excited for more. On the front of 'Dog Days,' fans have also theorized that this is the release that will be coming out with a Turnpike Troubadours feature attached, the country music group both beloved by Bryan and, confirmed to have been recording with him in mid-September.
Those, of course, are simply theories from the comment sections under the multiple 'Dog Days' concert video posts. While it could very well be true, we of course won't know for sure until confirmation from Bryan, Turnpike, or the EP itself.
For the lyrics we've collected from Zach Bryan's 'Dog Days,' see below:
"Welcome to Dog Days, darling
Welcome to hard times, too
All the tumultuous times of my stubborn youth
Just to troublin' you
-
Before the dog days, darlin'
I ain't ever eat from no silver spoon
All this bureaucratic gotta-have-it service
level sh*t's got me feeling blue
-
They told me I would never be something
Gotta make it through them dog days, darlin'
If you wanna go far, then you ought to go long
Well, I ain't a boy darlin', I'm all the way grown"
