His latest album, The Great American Bar Scene, may have only arrived a few months ago, it appears Zach Bryan is already hard at work on his keenly awaited follow-up record.

The Oklahoma singer-songwriter has taken to his Instagram Stories to share a clip of a brand new song, which fans are tentatively naming, ‘Raining in My Mind’. The introspective offering finds the narrator singing despondently across a gentle piano riff, as he laments the headspace he finds himself in, seemingly due to a recent break-up.

The jaded, inward-looking ambience follows in a similar vein to The Great American Bar Scene stand-outs such as ’Bass Boat’ and ‘The Way Back’, and it's interesting that the titular lyric of ‘Raining in My Mind’ can also be found in another recently shared Zach Bryan track, which has been dubbed by fans, ‘Love and Loss and Lightning Strikes’. The tone and melody, though, are completely different, so it appears these two unreleased songs are distinct, but perhaps connected.

Earlier in the year, as the dust was still settling from the arrival of Zach Bryan's long-awaited 2024 album, The Great American Bar Scene, the ‘Pink Skies’ hitmaker revealed via his socials that he only has one album left on his deal with Warner Records. He teased it may be a stripped-back project, sharing, “if it's acoustic don't mind it”.

When the tracklist eventually drops for his The Great American Bar Scene follow-up, we'll be keeping our fingers crossed that this beautiful, newly teased track makes it onto the project.

Zach Bryan is currently on a brief hiatus from his popular 2024 Quittin’ Time tour, with the ‘Something in the Orange’ crooner not due to perform again until his November Canadian leg. Excitingly, this gives Zach a few more weeks to hone his next body of work.
