Zach Bryan's 'Lies' with Lana Del Rey hits No. 1 on the Apple Music Top Songs chart, surpassing Ella Langley's 'Choosin Texas.'
Bryan's duet with Lana Del Rey acts as the third track on his recent 2026 EP release, Young Manhood & Other Donatable Organs. One of the only two feature songs of the EP, the emotional piano ballad meshes Bryan and Lana's respective sounds. While Zach keeps up with his usual angsty, poetic lyricism, he creates a space for Lana to display her beautifully recognizable vocals.
During the same weekend of the EP's release, the song skyrocketed to No. 1 on Apple Music's Top Songs Chart, bumping Langley's 'Choosin Texas' to No. 2.
When it comes to topping charts, 'Choosin Texas' needs no introduction. Langley's hit recently broke the record for longest-running No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, and has made its entry, and re-entry onto Apple Music's Top Songs Chart multiple times since its October 2025 release.
The lone star state anthem's No. 1 run on the chart has only been interrupted whenever a surge of streams come from a no-brainer hit for the time, such as 'Jolene,' after the death of country music legend Dolly Parton.
The obvious star power from Bryan and Lana's 'Lies' offers a similar essence of a guaranteed surge in streaming. Traction to this song comes from all over - fans of Bryan, fans of Lana, and simply those that are pulled in by seeing two huge names next to each other, helped bring this track to No. 1.
Along with 'Lies,' the other seven songs from Bryan's Young Manhood & Other Donatable Organs are stretched across the Apple Music Chart's Top 30.
At the time of writing, 'Lodi When' sits at spot No. 6, 'Robot Killed The Working Man' is at No. 11, 'Plainsman' feat. Turnpike Troubadours is at No. 15, 'You'll Get By' is at No. 17, 'Backwards' is at No. 18, 'Dog Days' is at No. 22, and 'Is The Blue Tangled In You?' is at No. 30.
As for the current battle between 'Lies' and 'Choosin Texas,' though, of course we still love to see Langley get her flowers for the hit. However, some of that spotlight going to Bryan and Lana for their powerful duet, in this writer's eyes, is well worth seeing 'Choosin Texas' get dethroned on a miniscule level.
