When Morgan Wallen first teased ‘Been By Now’ in early June, after the initial excitement wore off, fans started to resign themselves to the prospect of another summer spent listening to the same 15-second TikTok snippet over and over again.

But then, the ‘Last Night’ chart-topper surprised us with the news that he'd be dropping ‘Been By Now’ sooner than expected. Now, it's finally out, marking the start of Wallen's next era.

It's a breezy, synth-backed ode to the feeling when you know a relationship is over, but you've been hanging on for longer than you should've. The mood is bittersweet, with Wallen deciding to accept their fate as he attempts to convince his partner it's time.

Musically, ‘Been By Now’ feels reminiscent of the summery, pop-leaning ambience of ‘Love Somebody’, and we have a feeling this will dominate the Billboard Hot 100 charts alongside Ella Langley's ‘Choosin‘ Texas’ as August gets underway.
