Garth Brooks has shared his reaction after he was forced to add two extra shows in Indianapolis, Indiana next month due to overwhelming fan demand for the first two dates.

The ‘Friends in Low Places’ hitmaker was originally due to headline Indiana's Gainbridge Fieldhouse on August 21st and 22nd as the opening shows of his 2026 Blame It All On My Roots Tour. The eagerly anticipated run, which is expected to feature tour-stops across North America, will see the return of Brooks’ much-loved Drum Pod, which became a staple of his now-iconic 1996 tour of the same name.

But shortly after tickets went on-sale for these two shows, Brooks had to add a third and then a fourth date in Indianapolis on August 23rd and 20th respectively. Somewhat unusually, the Sunday, August 23rd show will be a matinee performance.

In response to the overwhelming fan demand that led to these additional shows, the Oklahoma native has expressed his gratitude to those buying tickets to his forthcoming run of shows, “I knew the city of Indianapolis was a smart choice to start the tour. I had no idea they would show up like this...I am in shock, grateful, and so happy to be touring again. THANK YOU, INDIANAPOLIS!"

In a social media post confirming the extra shows at the time, Brooks heartwarmingly emphasised his delight, “No one was prepared for this. Nearly 400,000 in the Ticketmaster queue. Your patience is so appreciated. This is crazy! THANK YOU!”

In an effort to deter ticket scalpers, Brooks made the bold but commendable move to forego the traditional Artist Pre-Sale and make all tickets available at the same time. Through a virtual waiting room, his team were seemingly able to sniff out bots and touts.

In a similarly idiosyncratic decision, the ‘If Tomorrow Never Comes’ crooner has made every ticket to his Blame It All On My Roots Tour the same price: $154.00 - plus applicable taxes.

It's the latest example of Brooks bucking the trend and refusing to follow the crowd when it comes to the modern music industry, with the country legend famously not making his music available to stream via any platform other than Amazon Music.
