During the final night of Noah Kahan's four-night Fenway Park run, Kahan's mother, Lauri Berkenkamp, surprised him with the news that he is the latest artist to become a member of the Fenway Music Hall of Fame. Kahan joins Billy Joel, Paul McCartney and Zac Brown Band as the only acts to be invited into the prestigious institution.

It's become a much-loved moment in Kahan's set when the Vermont native gets a phone-call from a mock payphone at the front of the stage, with the ‘Northern Attitude’ hitmaker receiving playful messages from Drake Maye, David Ortiz and more.

However, on the final night of Kahan's Fenway Park run, as he picked up the ringing phone, his mother flashed up on the JumboTron with a special, unexpected message.

Berkenkamp, who appears in Kahan's 2026 Out of Body Netflix documentary, began, “It's mom. I'm so proud of you, and I hope you've had as much fun here at Fenway as I have. I can't believe you're the only artist to ever sell out four consecutive nights at Fenway Park, but I'm not surprised. I knew you could do it. I've known all along”.

Berkenkamp goes on, “I also have some news to share. On behalf of Fenway Park and the Boston Red Sox, you are officially being inducted into the Fenway Music Hall of Fame. Congratulations. You know how much I love you and how proud I am of you”.

At first, Kahan is left speechless, before the introduction to the next song, ’She Calls Me Back’, starts to play, and he makes light of the somewhat quick transition, “Well that's f***ing cool, huh? Gotta move on from that, I guess, like nothing f***ing happened”.

During Out of Body, Kahan makes it clear how meaningful Fenway Park is to him, with his 2024 double-header there feeling like the pivotal moment of the documentary.

Kahan grew up a short drive away from Boston in Strafford, Vermont, with the folk titan's music being inextricably tied to New England in a way that no other artist's discography is.

Elsewhere during his set, Kahan treated fans to a rare performance of ’Carlo's Song’ from his debut album, Busyhead, which revolves around one of Kahan's friends who died young.

It's blossomed into a cult-favourite among Kahan's loyal fanbase, with the ‘Stick Season’ singer-songwriter referencing Carlo again on ‘Dan’, the final song on his new album, The Great Divide, making the track feel like a touching full-circle moment.

Billy Joel became the first artist to be welcomed into the Fenway Music Hall of Fame in 2019, followed by Paul McCartney and Zac Brown Band in 2022. Following this run, Kahan became the first artist to sell-out four back-to-back nights at the venue.

Adding to the lustre of the occasion was the fact that Kahan was also informed by Governor Maura Healey that July 11th would now be known as ‘Noah Kahan Day’ in Massachusetts. Next up, Kahan brings his array of heartfelt anthems to Chicago's Wrigley Field.
