During a conversation with Holler, Anne Wilson shared that she would “love” to collaborate with Lainey Wilson again, following their spellbinding 2024 duet, ‘Praying Woman’.

The two artists - who are no relation, despite their shared last name - teamed up for the soul-stirring song as part of Anne's debut country album, REBEL, which arrived in April 2024. It finds them reflecting on how, when faced with hardships and anxieties of any kind, the best solution is always to look up and pray about it.

While chatting to Holler around the release of her latest album, Stars, Anne reflected on her friendship with Lainey, and underlined that she'd be keen to work together again.

The ‘Me & Jesus’ singer-songwriter touches on how much she values Lainey's friendship and her advice. Anne underlines, “I would love to [collaborate again]. Lainey has become like a big sister to me, and I really look up to her, and she's such an inspiration to me. [A collaboration] is definitely something that I would love to pursue”.

Elsewhere during her interview, the Kentucky native explains why she decided not to include any features on Stars, instead saving her duets for the Blue Hour Deluxe version, which came out in July and included songs with Cole Swindell and Drew Baldridge.

Anne muses, “Honestly, we were going back and forth. I told my manager, ‘I feel like for this album, I want to be the one to sing every song’. It's such a personal album that I was like, ‘Let's do it just me, and let's just keep features off until later on’”.

The ‘My Jesus’ hitmaker goes on to again pay homage to Lainey, and emphasise how she hopes they'll get the chance to join forces in the writing room and studio again before too long, “But I would love to do something with Lainey in the future. She's just an incredible person, and I look up to her in so many ways”.

With Anne preparing to launch a new chapter with the release of ‘Who I Am To You’, which she's been teasing across social media and during her live shows, we can't wait to see which genre-blurring collaborations she has up her sleeve for her next album.

The ‘Country Gold’ crooner continues to cement herself as a trailblazer in the country and Contemporary Christian Music space, with Anne helping to open the doors for other artists looking to blur the lines between the two through twangy instrumentation and steel-backed melodies combined with uplifting, faith-driven narratives.

Based on how moving ‘Praying Woman’ is, we share Anne's enthusiasm for a second link-up with Lainey. Hopefully, with a new project en route, we might just get our wish.
