Kenny Chesney has shared a heartwarming homage to Megan Moroney via social media, after the ‘She Thinks My Tractor's Sexy’ hitmaker made a surprise appearance during Moroney's Nashville show at Bridgestone Arena this past weekend.

Chesney emerged on-stage to perform his and Moroney's much-loved duet, ‘You Had To Be There’, which was released back in May 2025 in honour of their time on tour together.

Via Instagram, Chesney has expressed his gratitude to Moroney for bringing him out in Music City, before paying tribute to how much he admires the career she is creating.

Chesney gushes, “Thank you for having me @Megmoroney. It was a thrill to be up there with you. So proud of you, your road family, and the beautiful audience you are building. KC”

Moroney has responded, “YHTBT🩷 love you sm!!!!”, with this touching exchange once again highlighting the sweet friendship between these two country chart-toppers.

While spending much of 2024 on the road together as part of Chesney's Sun Goes Down Tour, the duo struck up a lovely sense of camaraderie, with Moroney performing with the ‘I Go Back’ hitmaker each night and even pranking Chesney on the final tour-stops in Foxborough, Massachusetts by dressing up like him.

Since then, they've continued to show their respect and appreciation for one another both online and in-person, with Chesney and Moroney performing together on an array of occasions, before linking up for the CMA-nominated ‘You Had To Be There’.

With Chesney gearing up to release his eagerly anticipated new album, Silver Sands Marina, on September 25th, we can't wait to hear his latest duet with Moroney, ‘It Just Got Weird’.

The song appears on the Silver Sands Marina tracklist, with Chesney joking a couple of weeks ago that Moroney had “damn near insisted” that she joins him on the track. The Knoxville native went on to underline that he was incredibly glad that Moroney had been so keen, with her vocals fitting the emotion of the track perfectly.

We're hoping that, after ‘It Just Got Weird’ arrives next month, it won't be long before we get to see these two country pals teaming up on-stage once again for the song's live debut. In a modern musical landscape that can often feel inherently competitive and divisive, it's always refreshing to see two artists in the upper echelon of their genre showing love to one another, and becoming genuinely good friends.
