The Victoria’s Secret Angels have just hit the runway for the brand’s annual showcase, with Megan Moroney delivering an extra special performance.

It’s a pretty high profile event, with supermodels strutting down the stage in lingerie and their iconic angel wings.

And with the high profile event comes the high pressure to entertain. Victoria’s Secret has put on these shows for decades and since the early 2000s, has added live music performances, too. Huge pop stars from Destiny’s Child and Sting to Phil Collins and The Spice Girls have joined the runway to give the show its ‘wow’ factor.

Since 1995, there have been 26 Victoria’s Secret fashion shows, 20 of which have featured live music, but a country artist has never crossed the threshold. The closest they got was folk-leaning Hozier back in 2014 but aside from that, no country music has graced the stage.

Enter: Megan Moroney.

2026 saw the ‘Cloud 9’ singer gain her wings and join the angels for a medley of her songs, ‘6 Months Later’, ‘Wish I Didn’t’ and ‘Sorry I Meant Tonight’. Donned in her signature Cloud 9 era pink, Moroney navigated her performance wearing 6 inch heels and 6 foot wings. Oh, and she played guitar too. (We guessed the sizes but seriously, they’re big.) Is there anything she can’t do?

So, why is this important?

Well, first, it signifies the continued expansion of country music and its mainstream acceptance, which is cool enough on its own. Moroney’s presence demonstrates the magnitude of her reach and, by extension, country music as a whole.

But why her? There are so many women killing it in country music right now, so what made Moroney the perfect fit?

Moroney’s music cuts through for her female listeners. Her clever lyricism and astute story telling helps women feel seen and empowered. She sings on experiences that have been felt by women far and wide, sharing in ‘group therapy’ at her shows. And what a perfect collaboration with a brand that helps women to feel comfortable and empowered in their bodies.

So yes, it’s super cool that Megan Moroney performed at the annual Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show, and we’re very, very proud of her.

Get it, girl.
