Luke Grimes and High West Distillery have teamed up for a limited edition Campfire Whiskey blend, with Grimes taking us behind-the-scenes of how the collaboration came about.
In a new video campaign inspired by Grimes’ Maple Brûlée Cask Finish edition of High West's popular Campfire Whiskey, the Yellowstone star explains what drew him to Campfire.
The clip begins with the ‘No Horse To Ride’ hitmaker walking into a Wild West-inspired saloon, before taking a seat and reenacting the moment he tasted Campfire for the first time.
He muses, “I've always been drawn to things that are a little unexpected. Turns out, it goes for whiskey too. The first time I tried Campfire, it caught me off guard - in the best way”.
As a montage plays of some of Utah's most impressive natural landscapes, Grimes continues, “The sweet smoke, spice, something you can't quite put your finger on. Unique, yet familiar. It takes me right back to some of my favourite places in the world. Those moments around the campfire with my family, friends, bandmates”.
The Ohio native, who is currently reprising his role as the fan-favourite character Kayce Dutton in Season 2 of the hit Yellowstone spin-off, Marshals, reveals how he landed on this specific blend of Campfire, “Naturally, I started wondering what my version of campfire would taste like. We landed on a Maple Brûlée Cask Finish. It's still the Campfire I know and love, with a note of something new”.
The ‘Ghost Of Who We Were’ singer-songwriter warmly concludes with a playful message to his fans, “The only thing left to do? See where the next adventure takes us”.
It's a partnership that started last year, and one that feels unquestionably organic. Through his roles as the conflicted cowboy in Yellowstone and Marshals and through his weather-worn, alt-country music releases, Grimes has become one of the most respected poster-boys for a traditional, Western-leaning way of life.
What's more, High West's Protect the West initiative seeks to help preserve the natural landscapes and wildlife throughout North America, a cause that has always been close to Grimes’ heart. His official role at High West is as a Protect the West Ambassador.
When High West initially announced the partnership, they underlined how Grimes’ involvement would help to bolster Protect the West's mission to help preserve the Western lifestyle and landscapes, “We're proud to announce our new partnership with actor and musician Luke Grimes to advance our conservation efforts through the Protect the West initiative. This collaboration marks a pivotal next step in our mission to help charities which preserve the open skies, rugged trails and wild landscapes that define the spirit of the American West”.
They went on, “Now, with Luke Grimes joining the High West family as brand ambassador, we're reinvigorating our commitment to protecting the places people love most. A proud outdoorsman, Western lifestyle advocate and longtime whiskey enthusiast, Grimes will help amplify the campaign message through storytelling and awareness efforts designed to inspire others to take action and get involved”.
This makes it clear that Grimes and High West's limited edition Campfire Whiskey blend is born from a mutual love of the great outdoors, and a shared commitment to protecting the landscapes and wildlife that are so instrumental to both of them. Grimes and High's West Maple Brûlée Cask Finish Campfire Whiskey is only available from select stores and outlets, with this being a limited edition release.
