Ahead of linking up with Morgan Wallen for his colossal Ann Arbor, Michigan show on Friday, July 24th, Thomas Rhett shares a heartwarming tribute to the ‘Last Night’ hitmaker.

Rhett and Wallen have been buddies for years, with the latter opening up for Rhett in Australia in 2019, while of late, their roles have reversed, with TR supporting Wallen. They famously joined forces for the sweet, nostalgic ode to their respective grandmothers, ‘Mamaw's House’, in 2023, with the song hitting No. 1 shortly after.

During a new segment on SiriusXM's Morgan Wallen Radio, Rhett makes an appearance to underline his excitement to play a part in Wallen's 2026 Still the Problem Tour.

Rhett begins, “You might've seen me on the road with Morgan on the Still the Problem Tour...I've gotten to see Morgan perform in multiple different scenarios. I got to tour with him in Australia back when he was opening for me and Florida Georgia Line, which was crazy. And I knew that he had something super special”.

He goes on to express his admiration for how Wallen has since gone on to establish himself as the most popular and successful artist in the modern country landscape.

Rhett recalls being awestruck when watching Wallen's live show from the floor after finishing his opening set, “Obviously, over the last few years Morgan has become the biggest artist in our genre, and I had the opportunity to open for him last year in Ohio, and literally stood in the pit just like a fan. Just getting to watch...your friend and your brother do something that special for that amount of people was actually mind-boggling. The massiveness of the songs and the stage and his voice”.

The Georgia native concludes by underlining, “The dude was born to be a superstar. I'm so glad to be his buddy, and I'm so glad to be on this tour with him this year”.

Especially given how Rhett has been one of the leading figures in country music since the 2010's, and remains a hugely influential artist in today's scene, it would be easy for him to turn his nose up at the prospect of being forced to support another act.

But it's a testament both to how massive Wallen has become and what a humble, kind-hearted person Rhett is that he continues to open up for the ‘Love Somebody’ crooner.

When they join forces in Ann Arbor, Michigan at The Big House, they'll almost certainly be performing for a record-breaking number of fans as they team up for their signature on-stage duet, ‘Cowgirls’. Following ‘Mamaw's House’, we'd love to see Rhett and Wallen joining forces again in the near future for another chart-topping duet.
