While walking the 2026 ACM Awards Red Carpet last night (Sunday, May 17th), Tyler Hubbard revealed to Entertainment Tonight that he and Brian Kelley have been discussing the prospect of doing some Florida Georgia Line reunion shows in 2027.

When asked by Cassie DeLaura about the fact that he and BK have been spending more time together of late, and whether this means a long-awaited FGL reunion is on the way, Hubbard smiles, “Yeah, one photo and the world thinks you're back on tour automatically. No, to be honest, we've had a blast. It's been a really fun season of healing, like you said, and we've been hanging out, laughing, cutting up, goofing around, and it just feels like the old days. And so, for us, we're just trying to soak it up, make the most of it, not rush anything, be really smart about it”.

Excitingly, the ‘Way Home’ singer-songwriter goes on, “But we have been toying around and flirting with the idea of playing a handful of shows next year, and so that gets us both excited. But right now we're, like I said, trying to be patient with it, trying to enjoy this kind of like ‘honeymoon phase’, if you will...I'm literally leaving from Vegas and flying to the beach to go hang out with [Kelley] and his wife - me and my wife - and so yeah, we're just enjoying this time together”.

As for whether they're recording any new material yet, Hubbard outlines, “It hasn't gotten there yet. No new FGL music, I'm too busy working on my solo stuff at the moment. But I do know that...the idea of playing shows together sounds like a lot of fun, and we're just trying to keep it low stress and nothing but a good time”.

The Georgia native movingly explains that he and Kelley devoting time to mending their friendship has been a deeply healing experience, and that fans seem to be drawing on this mutual positivity and camaraderie. Hubbard muses, “I think for the world, you get to experience a little taste of the emotion and the healing that we've gotten to feel. It's really special, and it's bigger than just us, it's bigger than just the music, and it's actually a story and a powerful testimony to grace and forgiveness and healing, and all those things. So we're leaning into that, and excited for it. It feels like the world is feeling what we're feeling, and it feels good”.

During the 2010s, Florida Georgia Line completely revamped the country music landscape with game-changing, Hip-Hop-infused earworms like ’Cruise’, ‘Round Here’, ‘Sippin’ on Fire’ and more. After ruling the scene for the best part of a decade, the duo split in 2022, with the unexpected break initially seeming temporary, before the relationship between the ‘Blessings’ hitmakers became increasingly fractured.

Judging by more recent interviews where THubb and BK have shared their respective sides of the story, the tension arose from BK's belief that he could pursue a solo career while keeping FGL alive, while THubb maintained that it had to be all or nothing.

Despite speculation that the rift was politically-charged, with BK being a vocal supporter of Donald Trump during the 2020 election, both artists have always downplayed this.

We're just glad to see Hubbard and Kelley are getting along better these days, with the duo embarking on hiking trips, fishing trips and more in recent months as they continue to put their friendship first. We're sure fellow FGL fans will share our joy at seeing the country icons on good terms once again, but we'd be lying if we weren't secretly hoping that a full-blown FGL reunion is on the cards. Based on Hubbard's words here, it looks like, even if there isn't any new music on the horizon just yet, we can finally look forward to some more FGL shows in 2027.
